Meet the Teacher!

 

 

 

I am one of three teachers who teach 7th grade Reading/Language Arts (RLA) at RFMS. We work together every day to plan and prepare high quality lessons for our 7th graders! We try to have as much fun as we possibly can and we learn a lot along the way. Our class focuses on Reading, Writing, Listening, and Speaking. By the end of this year, our goal is to have each student reading above and beyond 7th grade level. In order to make this happen, we will make reading and writing a part of every single lesson, giving our students ample opportunities to grow as readers and writers. We look forward to seeing all of their progress this year!

 

Our classroom rules center on one key idea: Be a good human. We'll spend a lot of time this year talking about ways that each student can be a good student, a good friend, a good child, and an overall good citizen. We'll emphasize respecting each other, the classroom, and ourselves. 

 

You can find the grading policy on rfisd.us, but in short, we'll be taking 14 grades per 9 weeks. It's really important that you check Skyward every three weeks to see your child's progress report. An even better idea is to set up custom notifications in Skyward, so that you can keep a close eye on your student's grades. This will set them up for success!
